50 kiwi classics
Because New Zealand is a young country of 150 years, we don’t really have the long culinary history that other countries do. Think Italy and the development of peasant cuisine over millennium. That could not happen in such a short time frame so the culinary history of New Zealand is one of influence from many groups and ethnicities. This list will be dramatically different in fifty years and I hope to re do it then using the memories of my childrens’ children.
This will be a work in progress especially as I plan to make and document all of them. Please feel free to add to this list. If you are wondering how I came up with the idea, I stumbled across a site called Food Stories and adapted the idea slightly. One day I will post my own British Experience list and of course there is the Omnivores 100 list to check out as well
